The SPE 18 is a Grundfos 6" submersible pump with an internal permanent-magnet (IPM) motor and variable speed. Pump efficiency 78% (MEI ≥ 0.70), full stainless-steel construction. Driven by a CUE variable frequency drive (mains) or by the RSI solar inverter. Connection Rp 2½ (R 3).

Solar pumping systems for reliable Water Supply in Africa

The Grundfos SPE range comprises submersible pumps with an internal permanent-magnet (IPM) motor and variable speed. The SPE 18 covers flow rates up to 22 m3/h and a TDH up to 680 m, with a pump efficiency of 78%.

The MS6000P permanent-magnet motor delivers 8 to 10% higher efficiency than an equivalent asynchronous motor, for reduced energy consumption and a longer service life. The construction is entirely stainless steel (EN 1.4301 as standard, EN 1.4401 or EN 1.4539 as an option for corrosive environments).

The IPM motor is synchronous: it requires a variable frequency drive. The SPE 18 operates with the Grundfos CUE drive on a three-phase mains supply, or with a solar inverter for autonomous photovoltaic pumping.

Applications: drinking-water supply, agricultural and horticultural irrigation, groundwater lowering, boosting and constant pressure. Connection Rp 2½ (R 3), diameter 6".
