Solar pumping systems for reliable Water Supply in Africa

The FRENIC ACE solar drive for solar pumping operation is designed to drive a three-phase induction motor or a three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor under variable speed control.The FRENIC ACE can be used in existing systems with submersible pumps, this providing a very wide range of applications allowing you to leverage renewable energy sources with the ability to back up the system with grid or generator power.

Embedded, pump-specific features such as dry run detection, water tank level control, detection of sudden changes of conditions (especially irradiance) and low power function are used to protect and monitor the system.

The complete system consists of three components: Photovoltaic modules, FRENIC ACE variable speed drives and a 3 phases pump.

 

The built-in maximum power point tracking functionality enables the pump to run at maximum power using available solar power. It is independent from the grid and produces no pollution or noise.

The FRENIC ACE solar pump drive can also operate from the grid or a diesel generator when there is not enough sunlight to run the pump.

The ability to operate on both solar (DC power) and the grid (conventional AC power) is the greatest advantage of FUJI’s solar pump drive.
