SMA Sunny Island X: the next-generation battery inverter, off-grid and grid-connected

Whether deployed in regions far from the grid or connected to the public utility grid, the Sunny Island X is equally suited to off-grid use and grid-connected operation. As the central element of the installation, it stores self-generated solar energy and makes it available at all times.

Possible system configurations include grid-connected operation without backup (up to 11 units with the integrated SMA System Manager, or up to 50 units with the SMA Data Manager M); turnkey backup or off-grid up to 300 kW with the SMA Backup Box; island grids with a backup generator; and industrial projects beyond 300 kW with the Sunny Island X Connection Box and SMA Hybrid Controller. State-of-the-art cybersecurity, an ISO 27001-certified cloud via Sunny Portal powered by ennexOS and automatic updates are included.
